Quick update on the Holiday Gift Wrapping
We are still moving forward with this project. I spoke with Walmart yesterday and unfortunately we will not be able to use the space like we had originally anticipated being able to. We are looking into a few additional places, but we would LOVE any suggestions for other places that may be good to do holiday gift wrapping.

What about setting up a station in that open area between Macy's clothing department and the shoe depatment? Do you know what I'm talking about?
ReplyDeleteIf you use the entrance off Main St.--its a little white arch shaped door way--When you walk in, there is a decent amount of open space. Macy's clothing is off to your left, the shoes and Preferred Property Management are off to your right and onther office is kind of straight ahead. There would be enough room for a couple tables.
It would be easily accessible to the public, they wouldn't have to drive all the way out to the college and it's located in the middle of a busy shopping district.
Thanks Marissa for that suggestion! We will definatly look into it. The only bad thing that can happen is that they say no so it wouldn't hurt to try. The only thing that I see that may cause them to say no is that they do gift wrapping downstairs, but who knows...maybe they will still let us do it!
ReplyDeleteAre y'all just looking for one location or are you considering setting up a couple locations in town?
ReplyDeleteIf you cannot use the Blimpie's location, is there another place in Wal-Mart or maybe in the plaza across the street? A huge sign will bring people over from across the street. Did you talk to ?Steven?, the customer service manager?
Additionally, setting up another location in the place Marissa recommended would be great.
I have asked at Hastings (what their receptivity would be) and they will be answering me soon.

Originally we were only going to do it at Walmart (and unfortuanately there isn't another place in the store where we could do it so we wouldn't end up being in the way), but the more that I think about it the more I am thinking that it would be a good idea to maybe try to get two or three different locations on different days that weekend and see if we could make it happen that way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to work tomorrow I am going to drive past the strip mall across the street and see if there is any contact information in the windows because I think there are two or three empty spots there we MIGHT be able to slide into. I am pretty sure that one of them is usually taken during the holiday season, but I am not sure when they will be opening that store (can't remember the name of the store).
