WWCC Presents: Walla Walla Spring Festival

WWCC is making some great progress on the Walla Walla Spring Festival held right here on our campus!
Here is an update for all of you that are involved or that are considering getting involved, even just to attend.

We now have around a dozen clubs on-board including Ambassador’s, Culinary, Phi Betal Lambda, and want everyone to know that there is definitely room for more! Each club is encouraged to plan a booth, an activity, a performance or any combination of these things.

Some of the things planned at this point beyond club and college informational centers are:
•    Two performance areas. The main stage will have a number of live bands from our community performing and the other stage is scheduled to be available for performances and other entertainers.
•    A walking parade is in the works with a party theme. To get involved with this, contact Kim at 522-9866.
•    On-the-spot roving game show! Complete with trivia and prizes.
•    PBL is planning a carnival style game at their booth with all proceeds going to March of Dimes.
•    Clubs aren’t the only people that can get involved, we are welcoming more faculty and individual students!
There are a lot of things in the works and it sounds more entertaining with each conversation!

A couple things to consider-
•    Culinary is planning on being at this event and will provide concessions. They understand that some clubs might be interested in providing snacks and they wish to express there can not be home baked or prepared foods. If you plan on setting up a sno-cone machine or the like, please pass it by the Culinary adviser prior to the event.
•    PBL is not asking for any funding or profit sharing from the other clubs. Every penny your club makes is sent to your club unless you allocate it to something else, but PBL is not asking for percentages.
•    The club booths will be set up in the front parking lot of the college directly in front of the information / foundation building. There are no electrical outlets near the parking lot and if any power is needed, generators would be strongly recommended. PBL is looking at generator rentals and will assist where they can.

Join this festival and raise funds or do some community service for your own club. More importantly, have a great time with the loads of creativity.
To get more involved, contact PBL President, Joshua Conley at joshua.l.conley@student.wwcc.edu or 509-301-7831. Also, contact PBL adviser Mike Hays 527-4695 or your own club president and adviser.
